Child Center of Pennsylvania honors Brian Houchins Community Recognition Award

Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg is named the recipient of the 2023 Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is offered annually to an individual who has demonstrated distinctive dedication to improving the lives of kids in our community.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary faculty instructor and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children's schooling and welfare. Over the previous ten years, his efforts have significantly impacted the lives of numerous children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins' initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged college students, weekend workshops focusing on literacy and numeracy skills for at-risk youth, and main a profitable community-driven campaign to improve native playgrounds, guaranteeing protected and inclusive play areas for all kids.
The award ceremony is scheduled to take place on January 15,on the 15th of January,The Mechanicsburg Community Center will host the ceremony for the award on 15th of January 2024. The occasion will feature speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins' contributions, and the award presentation.
