Child Center of Pennsylvania honors Brian Houchins Community Recognition Award

Brian Houchins of Mechanicsburg is awarded the A Community Recognition Award. This prestigious award is introduced yearly to a person who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to improving the lives of children in our community.
Brian Houchins, a devoted elementary school teacher and neighborhood volunteer, has been an unwavering advocate for children's education and welfare. Over the past ten years, his efforts have considerably impacted the lives of countless children in Mechanicsburg and surrounding areas. Houchins' initiatives include establishing a free after-school tutoring program for underprivileged students, weekend workshops specializing in literacy and numeracy expertise for at-risk youth, and main a successful community-driven campaign to improve native playgrounds, guaranteeing secure and inclusive play spaces for all kids.
The award ceremony shall be held on January 15,at the beginning of JanuaryThe Mechanicsburg Community Center will host an award ceremony on 15th day of January in 2024. The occasion will characteristic speeches from local dignitaries, a presentation about Houchins' contributions, and the award presentation.
